Fuel Spill From an Abandoned House

7 members of the Team responded to a Saturday afternoon call involving heating fuel tanks that were leaking allegedly from stolen copper lines that were taken allowing the fuel to exit the dwelling. The Team assisted Adamsburg and Herminie fire crews with booms and pads to mitigate the spill and create an underflow dam. The incident involved about three hours and was turned over to the building's owner who provided a contract crew to facilitate the cleanup. A fully loaded propane trailer overturned in a parking area for servicing of truck tractors. The tanker pushed trhough soft pavement and tipped over on its running gear, The tanker began to leak and a process to offload and upright the tanker took approximately 6 1/2 hours.

Team 800 was called to assist I 70 Command in New Stanton for a salvage hauling truck that lost its load of propane tanks along the highway. With a strong odor of propane coming from the scene the IC requested the team to chekc the vessels and the small containers for explosive levels.
