Unity Township - Unknown Type Chemical Odor/Multiple Chemicals

Team 800 was dispatched for Unknown Type Chemical Odor/Multiple Chemicals in a residence. It was reported that possiby Hydroflouric, Hydrochloric, and Nitric Acid were involved and there were very strong fumes in an enclosed environment. The chemicals were in 5 gallon gans, fuel cans of diesel were involved, including gasoline. A three gallon can of chlorine tablets also involved. The homeowner had burning eyes and needed emergency medical attention. This was a multiple hour call with four response vehicles and a full team call out. A clean up company was called and would deal with the clean up of the incident.

Team 800 responded to Fitz Henry Road near Smithton to a tanker truck that reportedly spilled fluid along Interstate 70 and then under an overpass of the Interstate. The driver placed mitigation devices to slow the flow along the pavement and attempt to keep from entering catch basins.

A report of a box truck overturned on the Exit 51A ramp of Interstate 70 Eastbound. Local fire, EMS, and PSP Belle Vernon responded to the call. Initial size up by Chief 63 reported no injuries. Chief 107 assumed command and requested Team 800 dispatched for a compressed oxygen tank leak.

Team 800 was called to assist in Mount Pleasant Township for a vehicle overturned that had struck a tree and had a breached gas tank. The vehicle leaf spring had appeared to breach the gasoline tank and needed to be off loaded before it could be uprighted safely by the wrecking company.

A fully loaded propane trailer overturned in a parking area for servicing of truck tractors. The tanker pushed trhough soft pavement and tipped over on its running gear, The tanker began to leak and a process to offload and upright the tanker took approximately 6 1/2 hours.

Team 800 was called to assist I 70 Command in New Stanton for a salvage hauling truck that lost its load of propane tanks along the highway. With a strong odor of propane coming from the scene the IC requested the team to chekc the vessels and the small containers for explosive levels.
