Team 800 was dispatched to assist Station 44 Waterford, 43 Ligonier (Westmoreland County), 135 Jennerstown (Somerset County) to a tractor box trailer overturned and 70 barrels of product spilled on the roadway. The product labeled as Cherry Lime Rickey was mitigated with absorball, booms and pads deployed to protect a local reservoir about 2000 feet downstream. Although the product was not listed as toxic it was a concern of the Department of Environmental Protection that product would have an affect on destabilizing a normal water quality (pH).
The team remained on scene for about three hours assisting the local fire departments until released by the local fire chief and a subsequent clean up contracting and removal plan was developed by the trucking company.
