Heating Oil Truck Fuel Spill

Team 800 was activated to assist Station 24 with a heating oil truck leaking fuel. Approximately 20 gallons of heating oil released of which 10 gallons was captured in five gallon buckets and 10 gallons that spilled on the roadway that was recovered with absorbant material and placed into asteel drum that the responsible party removed from the scene.

Team 800 was requested to assist Monessen Police with a Marijuana growing operation in a residential home. 7 personnel responded and implemented air monitoring and water sampling within the structure to ensure conditions were safe for police to complete the search warrant.

Team 800 was dispatched automatically for a gas line rupture involving a residential service line. A landscaping crew attemting to remove shrubbery around a gas meter pierced the line with a steel digging iron and ruptured the buried steel service line that was 2" below the surface.

Team 800 provided airfield crash line support for the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport for June 5.6.7.8 as the many aircraft arrived, practiced and performed for nearly 150,000 in attendence. The team deployed Rescue 800, Hazard 800, Utility 800, and UTV 800.

A truck tractor impacted an embankment and overturned blocking the roadway. The team assisted in mitigating the fluids, batteries and offloading the diesel fuel so the truck could be uprighted. Engine oil covered the roadway but did not enter into any drainage concerns.

Team 800 performed an assessment for Station 91 firefighters that were called to a gas well leaking after a vehicle had struck a gas well valve and piping. The initial response of firefighters quickly mitigated the situation with tools and equipment they carry on their apparatus.
