Team 800 was called to assist New Alexandria, Crabtree, and Bradenville fire departments to provide emergency mitigation for a tractor trailer insulated tank truck carrying 3 products of SAE 5w30 (20,320#, 2911g), SAE 10w30 (11,040#, 1529g), and EP 150 (WD40) (15,920#, 2149g) that had impacted a passenger vehicle and then left the roadway rolling over directly adjacent to a retention pond designed for highway runoff. Chief 800 spoke directly to the shipper and was told that the product was non-hazardous and non-placarded. Local fire departments had rescued the drivers of the truck and passenger vehicle had placed absorbant pads under the leaking fill cap and diesel fuel saddle tank damaged in the collision. Team 800 personnel hot tapped the saddle tank and off loaded the fuel tank on the passenger side into recovery drums. Absorbant pads was used in the area of the truck accident. DEP was notified and a clean up company arrived and released the team from the emergency. There was severe damage to the insulated jacket and a minor deformity on the rear hatch lid fill cap. All valves were checked on the offloading side and the tank was checked for any other stress or damage tears. The drivers side fuel tank was left in tact and the wrecking company in conjunction with the clean up company will secure that tank.
