Team 800 participated in a 4 hour two part program on EOD awareness presented from an Allegheny County Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal officer on Thursday December 5, 2013 in Westmoreland County. A Sergeant/Bomb Technician provided a large display of ordinance and switches that may be found in the field. Two power point presentations provided comprehensive awareness of items to "look out" for when responding to any kind of incident. Valuable real life scenario case studies were presented and discussed to help understand the extremely sensitive nature of homemade explosive devices. Precursors and products that are publicly available were shown from open source videos. Photos and graphics of components were provided to illustrate the seriousness of threats that can be constructed. Most importantly the rule of "When in doubt, Back Out!" was expressed clearly and actions to isolate and protect the public were defined as job one.
